Easter and Mother's Day

My Mom (Mimi) and her GRANDS... Jake, Maggie, Brooke and Ellie

Uncle Ned and Maggie

I feel the need to go back and blog about some previous weekends we've had with family. We had a wonderful Easter weekend a few weeks after a Easter!! Poor little Brooke (Jamie and Lindsay's little one) was in the hospital with RSV over Easter. We all got together in Greensboro 2 weeks later when she was much better! My aunt Ann always has a delicious spread and the children are all such fun to watch play.
Mother's Day was a glorious day here in Charlotte. My Mom came for the day as well as my younger brother Ned. We had a yummy lunch outside and just enjoyed time together. I love being a Mom so this day is certainly special.

Easter and so on...

A few of my friends have asked me to post a blog about Ellie and her beloved Easter candy!!
It's no lie that Ellie loves a sweet-treat- just like her Mommy! In fact, we were stretching that Easter basket for days and days allowing her 1 piece after dinner if she had good behavior (havior) and she calls it.... Well, she had a really rough week a few weeks back (you know it's hard being 3!!) and her punishment after many warnings was to throw away all of her Easter candy....seems drastic I know... Eric took her outside to the big garbage can and emptied out one by one each egg that had candy in it-- allowing her to just watch as they landed into the bottom of the can... it was quite dramatic as you can imagine. She was very serious and asked lots of questions.
The next day while we were sitting at the dinner table she whispered to me....'Hey Mom, wanna know what I wanna be when I grow up?.... A Trash man so I can get all of my Easter candy back!' Eric and I were in hysterics of course!! We've traumatized her forever! BUT-- she's had beautiful 'havior' ever since!
About 2 weeks later- while heading out the front door one early morning-- she saw the Recycle guy picking up our red bins outside.... she yelled to him.....'Hey... think I could get my candy back'!

5 months Old!!

S0, Miss Maggie is 5 months old today.... What a little love!
She hardly ever cries and just goes with the flow with this busy family. She's sleeping 12 hours at night and wakes for 1-2 feedings...was sleeping though the night at 4 months... but maybe she's growing now?! She's a little smaller than Ellie was at this age-- hard not to compare when you have 2 of the same gender. Ellie always was 95-97% on the growth chart and Miss Mag is just a mere 75% on the charts! :) She's my little peanut.
She's rolling over now and loves to stand and just talk to anyone who will listen.
Here are a few recent pics of her-- and 1 of Ellie at the same age!! (ellie in bumbo with white PJ's)

I guess it all started.....

So I'm new to the blogging world!! Welcome!! I hope I can squeeze a few minutes into this site once in a while. Most of my friends are bloggers here in Charlotte- and they love doing it- AND I love catching up with them and seeing what everyone is up too. I also love the idea that this can be somewhat of a scrapbook for my girls since I don't have the time to do that anymore! (bring on the guilt!)
So- I guess I'll get started!

I guess it all started Nov/2002 when I married Eric!! Man, that seems so long ago- but what a fun day it was celebrating with our friends and family.
We always knew we wanted to have children and in August/2005 we joyfully welcomed Elizabeth Blair Morse. It's hard to believe she's going to be 4 this summer... time sure does fly. She's been such a sweet little girl- pretty darn easy- so we're lucky in many ways! Her little sister- Margaret Taylor Morse joined the family in Decemeber/2008 and OH- what a dream baby! She honestly makes you want 10 of her- because she's just so darn sweet and easy!

We stay busy around here-- Eric works for Duke Power and continues to work swing shift- night shift/day shift- always 12 hour shifts. We never know when he's coming or going. I'm working at CMC-Pineville 3 days a week as an RN/Diabetes Educator. I love my job and feel lucky that I can continue doing what I love and be home some with my girls. So-- I hope that I make time for this neat little site so my girls can look back and see all of the neat things we've done together!
